Container Ship Leyla Kalvakan entering the Port of Livorno on 31 May 2012.

I seem to remember taking this photograph as we were manouvering out of the port before we sailed to Civitavecchia.

She was built by Sedef Gemi Endustrise in Tuzla, Turkey as Yard No.122 in 2002 and is 149.0m long with a 22.70m beam and 7.80m Summer draught.

TEU = 1,250

Powered by a B&W 7S50MCC 11,217S (kW) engine she has a maximum speed of 19 Knots.

She is operated by WEC lines BV which began operations in January 2009 following the merger of W.E.C. Nederland B.V., Holland Maas Shipping B.V. and Holland Maas Container Line B.V.

W.E.C. Lines dated back to 1978 when they took over the short sea service of S.B.C. Container Lines, they have offices in many countries including Belgium, Germany, Spain, Morocco, Russia, Kenya, Uganda, Egypt and the Sudan.
