The other interesting ship I saw whilst in London was Light Vessel 93.

Built by Phillip & Son Dartmouth, Devon for Trinity House London in 1938 (Yard Number 848) she was launched on 1 November 1938 and handed over to Trinity House on 27 January 1939.

She served as a light vessel on various stations  from 1939 to 2004 apart from during WWII when she acted as a mine watching vessel in the River Thames.

Her stats are below.

Length 40.85m
Length: 36.45m
Beam:  7.62m
Draught: 4.57m
Displacement: 519 tons (fully loaded)

Since 2004 she has been in private hands and I believe is currently used as a photographic studio.

Hi Steve, be good to link up and share info. You don't happen to know of any audio recordings of LV foghorns, and interviews with ex service men?
Have a look at our project on Facebook LASTSTATION.located&dislocated

Hi Mary. Unfortunately I do not have any of the info noted. You may be amazed to know in not on Facebook! Perhaps I should be. I see LV planet most weeks when in in Liverpool. Shame they are not many left. Anyway thanks for getting in touch. Its good that at least one person has looked at my site. Best regards, steve

My interest in ships and the sea started back in 2006 when I worked for a couple of years  on the banks of the River Mersey. I have since been on a couple of cruises around the Med and in the Far East and have started to take more interest in researching and photographing some of the ships and other vessels seen on my travels.
