MTS Valour photographed in Liverpool docks on 12 February 2014.

She is a Damen Shoalbuster 2308 tug and is typically used for towing, mooring, anchor handling and dredging support.

Built by Damen at Hardinxveld in The Netherlands as Yard Number 1572 in 2006 she has an overall length of 23.35m, 8.65m breadth and 1.95m summer draught.

GT 126 & NT 37.

Main engines consist of 2 x Caterpillar type 3412D BTTA, 4 stroke 12 cylinder diesel engines (1.284 kW / 1.720 hp at 1.800 rpm) with twin Promarin 1600mm diameter fixed pitch propellers, this gives a service speed of 10.5 knots and a maximum speed of 11.5 knots. Generator sets  include a John Deere 6068TF 258 diesel generator (60 kVA 50 Hz 220/380 Volt) and a Hatz 4L41C diesel generator (30 kVA 50 Hz 220/380 Volt), she also has a 120hp bow thruster.

She has heated and fully air-conditioned living spaces for 5 persons consisting of a Captain's cabin, Chief Engineers Cabin, one single and one double crew cabin as well as galley and sanitary facilities.

She is owned and operated by MTS (Marine & Towage Services) which from their Brixham, Falmouth and Newlyn offices provide a wide range of marine services. Their vessels are a commonly seen in Liverpool docks and on the River Mersey.

In the background can be seen the Fleetwood registered fishing vessel Isadale (FD177) which has been acting as a guard vessel on the new wind farms. She has an overall length of 26.16 m and was built by Lewis& Sons , Aberdeen, Scotland in 1971 having a 149 GT and 65 DWT.
